loveSicily is a very special project born from a genuine passion for our motherland: Sicily.
Katia, the owner and master chef of this wonderful place, after some working years spent abroad, decided to go back to Modica and restore her charming grandparents house to start her own cooking school. As soon as we got to know her website and herself, we were fascinated, because we believe she shares and prioritizes the same values we do: the importance of her family roots , the passion for our food traditions and the importance of “sharing” as a life attitude.
The apartment, originally from the 17th century, is located in the heart of Modica, where you can admire a breathtaking view of the Saint George Cathedral (Duomo di San Giorgio) from. The kitchen obviously represents the diamond tip of the house equipped with its spacious cooker and the particular tiles with a Sicilian DOC pattern made in Caltagirone (a city not so far away from Modica and insanely famous for its unique ceramics). Here is where the cooking classes are taking place, in Italian or in English, as a fixed-date lesson or a tour, just for one day or as a multi-day culinary tour (and we recommend you to have a look at her website and blog).
If you like this place as much as we do and you would like to spend the night in it, well..YOU CAN! In fact, Katia, has created three very special double rooms for you: Cannella (cinnamon), Peperoncino (chili) and Vaniglia (vanilla). The rooms have everything you may need: air conditioning (very important during Summer), heating, flat-screen TV and wireless.
