Marina di Ragusa is to us the best place on the coast in the Ragusa Shire (nonetheless don’t miss to visit also Punta Secca, Donnalucata or Scoglitti to really enjoy the beauty of the Sicilian coast).
However, we would like to say that over the years this place has never lost its spirit of “most loved summer destination” from the natives, even now that is one of the most favorite summer destination for foreigners together with Ibla.
Any activity in the small centre goes around Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi (also known as the “Old Square“). Here we love to enjoy a traditional Sicilian breakfast with a granita and a brioche at “Caffè delle Rose” or at “La Sorbetteria”. After a nice swim and a quick sunburn, we love to meet friends while walking through the promenade Lungomare Andrea Doria, which flank the entire length of the city (from the start of the natural oasis to the harbor). At the harbor the panorama is amazing and during the sunset you might take some breathless picture of Marina.
While the day is coming to an end, we do not have to forget to have a very romantic dinner in front of the sea at our favorite restaurant in Marina di Ragusa: VotaVota Marina di Ragusa.
Marina di Ragusa is considered a very valuable deal for both families and young people as it offers entertainment and services for each kind of target. In fact, the same places show different “aspects” during the day and during the night, such as the little cafe in the corner of Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi: il Sodo, designed and restored every year by one of our best friends, which at night becomes one of the highlights of the nightlife in Marina.
I know, you can think our view is partial since we have been spending a lots of summers there for more than 25 years, but…visit and let us know!
