Comiso is a small city within the area of Ragusa, however, in the last years its name has becoming particularly famous due to the re-opening of the old NATO military airport.

The city is located in the northern-west territory of the Province and, as the other cities around this area, has been partially destroyed and rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693. Nevertheless, Comiso is a charming destination to stop by, thanks to the “Barocco Siciliano” (baroque architecture) of the Cathedral of “Santa Maria delle Stelle” and the Cathedral of “Santa Maria SS. Annunziata”. As you might know the UNESCO sites are really numerous within this area and that is why we recommend to also visit the churches of “San Biagio”“Ex Chiesa del Gesù” and “Santa Maria della Grazia”. Furthermore, the history of the place is significantly marked by the presence of the “Castello dei Naselli d’Aragona”, built around 1330 and the square where the Fountain of Diana is, that you cannot miss if you come across Comiso.

Baroque is not the only highlight for the lovers of this place. If you really want to experience a place, there is no better way of living it. Comiso is full of restaurantspizzerias and places to drink, especially in the centre or around the Fountain of Diana; full of life, such as the “Settembre kasmeneo”, event hosted every September that opens the streets of the historical center to concerts, artists, cabaret, etc. And..suddenly it is time to have relaxing break or just a day of treats, stopping at the Spa Center of Villa Orchidea, which is just next to Airport and at the entrance of the city. Is there a better way to say welcome or goodbye?

Do not miss your chance, as Comiso is now reachable from different strategic location in Europa (mainly with flights operated by Ryanair), like London, Dublin, Bruxelles, Frankfurt Hahn, Duesseldorf Weeze, Pisa, Rome and Milan.

So, what are you waiting for booking your next flight?
